Man shot in attempted hijacking

Man shot three times in attempted hijacking in Centurion.

A man was shot and wounded in an attempted hijacking on the John Vorster off-ramp in Centurion on Friday afternoon.

Braam Kruger of Emer-G-Med said the man was hit several times.

“We arrived on the scene and treated the man who was in a critical condition. He has since been transported to a nearby hospital,” said Kruger.

“The attempted hijacking is now the subject of a police investigation,” said Kruger.

A photo of the scene shows three clear bullet holes in the driver’s side window.

The hijackers apparently fled in a black Range Rover on the N1 highway.

Anyone with information on the shooting could contact the Lyttelton police on 012-644-8600.
