Robbers flee after shootout
A shootout between security officers and robbers ensued on Tuesday afternoon.
Three robbers and security officers exchanged fire after a burglary in Eldoraigne, Centurion, on Tuesday afternoon,
Centurion Concerned Citizens spokesperson Hannes Du Buisson said he was alerted about the crime in Ewald Street around 15:00.
Vanessa Jacobs, spokesperson of Orange Fox security, said the burglars fled in a Silver Subaru vehicle when the security officers arrived.
Members of three other security firms, Copwatch, MonitorNet and EBS security also responded.
“The group of security officers gave chase and shots were fired between them and the fugitives,” Jacobs said,
The fleeing men abandoned their vehicle near the Mall@Reds.
Jacobs said a stolen television set was found.
“No arrests were made,” said Jacobs
