Three nabbed for stolen Sassa cards
Three men were arrested on Thursday afternoon for illegal possession of Sassa cards.

Three men aged between 24 and 25 were nabbed for illegal possession of SA social security agency (Sassa) cards on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said police noticed a car facing oncoming traffic on the corner Lillian Ngoyi and Visagie streets while on patrol.
“Patrollers approached the men and one of them tried to escape, but he was apprehended.”
While searching their car, a bag with 65 Sassa cards was found.
“Nobody but a cash payment service agent or a beneficiary of a social grant is allowed to be in possession of a Sassa card.”
The men were charged with illegal possession of Sassa cards and investigations continue. They will appear at the Pretoria Magistrate court soon.
On 31 August, four men were arrested for possession of stolen Sassa cards linked to bank accounts with a collective credit of R40 500.
This discovery was made after Tshwane metro police stopped a vehicle being driven into oncoming traffic in Steve Biko Drive.
They had already withdrawn R7 000 using some of the cards.
Sassa is the government agency responsible for distributing pensions to the elderly and social grants to the infirm and indigent.
