Burglar arrested in Elarduspark
Man arrested by security officer after a house robbery.
A security officer arrested a man on Sunday afternoon after a robbery at a house in Elarduspark, east of Pretoria.
Bull Security controller Chene Smit said a woman called the control room to let them know about a burglary in progress at her house.
“The woman was in the house with her friend when she noticed two men forcing her door open.”
A team was dispatched to the house. Smit said the woman called again and said the men were inside the house.
“The intruders took what they could find and ran out of the house. One of our officers saw one of the culprits and chased after him.”
The fleeing man was caught by officer Wikus Roux as his accomplice managed to get away.
“A television set and laptop stolen from the house were returned to the owner after the suspect was arrested,” Smit said.
The arrested man was handed over to the Lyttleton police.
