Greedy daughter gets 10 years for murder of mom, brother
A 25-year-old Mabopane woman was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to conspiracy and murder of her own mother and younger brother to get her hands on a large insurance payout.

A 25-year-old Mabopane woman was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on Wednesday, for the murder of her own mother and younger brother in 2009.
Kesentseng Dlamini said she conspired to have her mother killed to claim from her life insurance.
Dlamini’s mother Rose (55), a principal at Shashakung High School in Soshanguve, was believed to have bought two large insurance policies on her life. Dlamini said she plotted the murders with her aunt, Masentle Mabuza (33). Mabuza is Rose’s sister.
The Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court heard from the investigator, Warrant Officer Timothy Nyathela that the two women’s plan was for the Rose and her son, Sbusiso (15) to be killed on April 15th, but the planned hit failed so it was postponed by a month.
Nyathela said Rose was accosted by the two hit men on May 15th as she returned from work.
“The two men overpowered and suffocated her to death with a black refuse bags,” said Nyathela.
“They then waited for Sbusiso to return from school. The boy was stabbed to death, then transported to an open field where his body was dumped.
“It is not often that an investigation points back [to someone] in the family.”
He said the hit men had led police to the two conspirators.
The four were arrested in 2013 without ever seeing a cent from the payout which was withheld by the insurer.
One of the hit men, Simon Frans (26) died before the case was finalised.
