19-year-old woman arrested for dagga
Police arrest a 19-year-old woman after dagga plantation was found in her yard.

A woman was arrested after police discovered a small dagga plantation on her property in Hatfield on Wednesday morning.
Police Spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach said police were responding to a noise complaint when they came across a plantation in the commune.
“A Hatfield resident obtained a court order in an effort to restore rest and calm in the neighbourhood. The Brooklyn police visited the commune in Prospect Street to inform the residents about the court order,” she said.
Weilbach said while the police were busy with their duties, they smelled dagga from inside the building.
“In one of the rooms, they found a 19-year-old woman smoking. The police officers asked her where she obtained the dagga from and she walked, with a head gesture, to the back yard,” she said.
Weilbach said the police officers discovered eleven dagga plants.
“The woman admitted to watering the plants daily and was arrested. She will appear in the Hatfield Community Court on Thursday, on charges of possession and cultivation of dagga,” she said.
Weilbach said the arrest was a warning to drug abusers, manufacturers and traffickers that they would never escape the long arm of the law.
“Drugs are destroying future generations and the police will leave no stone unturned to curb this vicious scourge,” she said.
