Two arrested for attempted hijacking
A court date is yet to be set for two men who attempted to hijack a Shoprite truck.

Two men were arrested on Friday for an attempted hijacking of a Shoprite delivery truck.
The unsuccessful hijacking was made in the early hours of Friday morning at the Botha Avenue off-ramp, Centurion.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu said the men aged between 30 and 35 tried to force the truck driver off the road, into the bushes.
“The driver tried to escape by taking the off-ramp but he made the turn sooner than he should have, resulting in him to drive into the bushes,” Gumbu said.
The robbers made their way to the truck and tried stealing the products in the truck.
“The episode was caught on CCTV cameras and police immediately made their way to the scene.”
It was unknown where the driver of the truck was by then.
A case of attempted hijacking would be investigated and the two men will stay in police custody until a date for the court appearance has been set.
Shoprite could not yet provide comments.
