Four strangers try tricks to gain entry to pensioner’s home
Four persistent women try to trick a pensioner to let them into her home.

A pensioner was almost robbed by four women in her home in Queenswood on Monday afternoon.
Jeanette, whose surname has been withheld for fear of victimisation, was busy in her garden when four unknown women came to her house in Dunstan Road seeking assistance.
Jeanette said she had read an article in Rekord about a syndicate of women operating in the area and had become more vigilant.
Jeanette said the women, driving a VW, parked in front of her gate.
“They were passing by my street and then pulled into my driveway,” Jeanette said.
The driver remained in the car while the three came up to ask if Jeanette was the “baker” they were looking for.
They said they were looking for the baker’s house with a green gate. Jeanette’s gate is green.
“They said they wanted a wedding cake so I told them they had the wrong address, but still they insisted on entering my home,” Jeanette said.
The pregnant woman asked if she could use the toilet, but Jeanette directed her to the toilet outside her house.
Another asked for water and immediately walked forward to let themselves in, but Jeanette stopped her.
As soon as the pregnant woman returned, the women got into the car and sped off.
She warned the community to be more observant and to not be taken in by the scam.
