A man was in a critical condition and a woman was moderately wounded when a string of bullets were fired directly at them on the N1 northbound at the Garsfontein Road offramp on Friday afternoon.
Directorate of Specialised Security spokesperson Brandon Morgan said a BMW M3 stopped next to a branded yellow Renault Clio RS when a man jumped out and fired multiple shots through the left side of the car.
Speaking to Rekord, Morgan counted a total of 15 bullet holes from the left side of car.
“There were about 15 shots into the car. Three men had occupied the M3. This seems to be a hit,” he said.
“The two were shot from the passenger side. The man was hit in the spine and the two were taken to Unitas hospital.”

The pair drove to the Kia Motors on Garsfontein Road for safety, Morgan said.
“That is when they called for help. The men fled in the M3 with a Gauteng registration number that starts with DD 05.”
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Braam Kruger said the man was in a critical condition while the woman suffered moderate injuries.
The Clio seemed to belong to Orgazma Energy Drink as it was branded.
Police were still at the scene.
