Presidency seeks info on new jet
The presidency requested information from the department of defence on the new aircraft reportedly meant for Jacob Zuma.
The presidency has sought information from the defence department after weekend reports of plans to buy a new presidential aircraft.
“The presidency has also requested the department to ensure that the public is briefed on the matter as much as possible but without compromising security,” said spokesperson Bongani Majola.
According to reports, Zuma would be receiving a new presidential aircraft valued at R4 billion.
Majola said aircrafts purchased by the department of defence for use by the president and his deputy belonged to the state.
