CPF member finally at home

Shimon Theron, the young Pretoria West CPF member shot during a robbery about a month ago, is recuperating well at home.

The young CPF official shot in the leg about a month ago in an armed robbery is now back home and preparing to finish writing his school exams.

Shimon Theron (19) was shot while responding to a business robbery at the Kwikspar in Danville. He is the vice chairperson of the Pretoria West CPF sub-forum in Proclamation Hill.

He spent almost three weeks in the Kalafong hospital and was recently discharged.

“I started last week Monday with my school exams. I am only left with three [subjects] to write then I will be done,” Theron said.

He is a grade 11 pupil at Hoërskool H.F Verwoerd.

Theron said he was very happy to be home after being in hospital for so long. He will, in five weeks’ time, return to hospital for his third operation.

He would return to CPF duties once fully recovered but would not do patrols anymore.

Another CPF patroller, Hennie Prinsloo (60) was injured in the shooting but his injury was not as serious.

Friends and family of the young CPF member are very happy he has recovered sufficiently to return home.
