Businessman murdered in the Moot
Four men and a woman fled the scene where a 45-year-old businessman was murdered in Gezina.

Police are investigating a case of murder and robbery following the death of a 45-year-old Bangladeshi man in his shop in Gezina, Pretoria this morning .
“About 07:15, four unknown men and a woman entered the Saria mini market on the corner of Jacob Street and 14th Avenue in Gezina,” confirms police spokesperson Captain Collette Weilbach.
“They found the Bangladeshi and his younger brother (29) inside the shop. The unarmed men allegedly threatened the two Bangladeshis and forced them to lie down on the floor.”
The suspected robbers put a plastic bag over the younger brother’s head and allegedly strangled the elder one to death.
The suspects took an unknown amount of cash and groceries before they fled in a silver Toyota Avanza.
The Pretoria Moot police are investigating a business robbery and a murder cases.
No arrest had been made yet. Anyone with information that can assist the police is asked to contact the Pretoria Moot police station at 012-353-5441or the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111.
