A man believed to have been a driver of a taxi was shot in the head behind his steering wheel by an unknown gunman, west of Pretoria.

Ambulance services rushed to the corner of Luttig and Court streets after a call to stabilise the man.

BestCare spokesperson Xander Loubser said, from the scene, that paramedics were busy stabilising the man.

“He currently has a very low blood pressure,” Loubser said. “It seems the bullet went through his head.”

The man was transported to Kalafong hospital for immediate medical treatment.
