Man stabbed in neck after pub-brawl

A man was stabbed in the neck after an alleged fight broke out at a local pub.

Man has severed his artery after he was stabbed with a sharp instrument in the neck in Mountainview early this morning.

Ambulance service, BestCare was alerted to the incident.

BestCare spokesperson Xander Loubser confirmed the incident occurred at the pub in Karel Trichard Street.

“The man was rushed to hospital in a private vehicle,” Loubser said. “His carotid artery was severed and he is currently undergoing surgery.”

One man has been arrested.
