According to Arrive Alive, a seven-year-old child was killed on Friday after he was knocked over by a vehicle on Magnolia street in Rus ter Vaal, Vereeniging.
ER24 spokesperson, Werner Vermaak reported: shortly after 12:00 paramedics arrived on the scene where they found the lifeless body of the little boy lying in the middle of the road.
Paramedics from the provincial emergency medical services already declared him dead.
Bystanders explained that a group of children were playing at a nearby house when the boy for some reason ran outside.
The driver of the vehicle that apparently collided with the child was assaulted by members of the community and his car severely damaged by rocks. The driver was assessed by paramedics and later released to police on scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident will be investigated.
