Police are still looking for 10 armed men who robbed a spaza shop in Block IA, Soshanguve over the weekend.
Rietgat police spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said on Monday, progress was being made in an attempt to catch the perpetrators.
“The owner of the shop was helping a customer outside the shop at 12:00 when he saw five men making their way into the shop. They broke the security door with a crowbar to gain entry,” he said.
“Five more men armed with knives and pangas also made their way into the shop.”
Mangena said the men ransacked the shop before fleeing with cigarettes, airtime, cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash.
An estimated value of the stolen items is R22 000, Mangena said.
The owner and a customer were unharmed during the robbery.
