Another death at Tuks

The year started off on a dramatic note at the University of Pretoria with yet another death.

Police are investigating a case of murder following an “incident” at the University of Pretoria campus earlier this morning.

Initial unconfirmed reports claimed that the incident, which saw streets around Tuks cordoned off and a large contingent of police, was a suicide by a lecturer at the university.

The university said it could only confirm “an incident”, but Brooklyn police spokesman Captain Colette Weilbach said that although not much detail could yet be released, a case of murder was currently being investigated.

“This could, however, change after further investigations by detectives,” she said.

More details will be released later, Weilbach said.
