One dead after Botha Avenue crash

One person died after a taxi overturned on Botha Avenue.

One person died after a taxi overturned on the corner of Eufees Road and Botha Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

According to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Braam Kruger, one person died but nobody else was injured in the accident.

The taxi had rolled before landing on its side.

The accident occurred just after 16:00, but the road remained closed for the rest of the afternoon while police investigated the accident scene.

The Tshwane metro police closed off Christina de Witt Avenue toward Botha Avenue from the Fountains Circle.

This led to heavy congestion and forced motorists stuck at the accident scene to turn around and drive back up Christina de Witt Avenue in the wrong direction.
