Elderly woman burns to death after her house catches fire.
A 63-year-old woman burned to death after her house caught fire in Soshanguve on Tuesday, police said on Friday.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said the body of the elderly woman was discovered after neighbours alerted them about a house that had burned to the ground.
“Upon arrival, it was discovered that a 63-year-old woman had died due to severe burns. Nobody else was in the house. The cause of the fire is unknown at the moment but investigations are being made and her family members can’t be reached.”
Mangena said a murder inquest was opened at the Soshanguve police station.
In a separate incident, a body of a pregnant lady was found buried in a shallow grave in Tswaing, Soshanguve, on Thursday night.
