It was a full house at Hirch’s Centurion last Friday went 27 grade 8 pupils from Hoërskool Uitsig took part in a charity challenge for World Sleep Day.

The challenge was to fit as many of the children onto one bed. All the Hirch’s branches are competing against each other. The winner in each region will receive 10 mattresses to donate to a pre-school of their choice.

A full 27 pupils managed to fit onto the bed. They had to stay there for 30 seconds to make the tally official.

Hoërskool Uitsig spokesperson Manda Bester said the school was very excited when they got the invitation to compete.

“Not only is it fun for the pupils to compete, but the competition is for charity as well,” said Bester.

“Hoërskool Uitsig is always willing to get involved with any community or charity project.”

Hanlie Truter, a teacher at Hoërskool Uitsig said: “The children are so excited to be part of this great initiative, and have been practising at the school on the trampoline.”
