NEWSFLASH: Kids survive Centurion fire

A house caught fire in Centurion on Monday morning.

A house in Centurion caught fire while the children were home on Monday morning, Orange Fox medical unit said.

Spokesperson Lynne-Mari Venter said this happened in Cornwall Hill Estate.

The Tshwane fire department, SecMed, ER24 and Emergency Medical Solutions rushed to the scene.

“On arrival the fire was already extinguished. The upper floor of the house was damaged due to the heat and smoke,” she said.

The children who were home at the time were checked and suffered no injuries, she said.

“The cause of the fire is still being investigated. We would like to thank all involved for working as a team.”
