Man shot in Centurion hijacking

A man was transported to hospital after being shot during a hijacking on Monday morning.

A man was left in a serious condition after he was shot on Monday morning during a hijacking in Centurion, Netcare 911 said.

Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said the 28-year-old man was hijacked near the Cashbuild retail store in Olievenhoutbosch around 07:45 and he was shot.

“Netcare 911 paramedics managed to stabilise the wounded man on scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital,” she said.

He was in a serious but stable condition, Mathe said.

“The exact detail to the incident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.”

Police were not available for comment at the time of publishing.
