A bouncer was allegedly shot and killed by one of the patrons at a popular Pretoria nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“At 00:06 on Sunday morning Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a shooting at a nightclub in Menlyn Square Pretoria,” confirmed Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.
“Reports from the scene indicate that an altercation broke out at the nightclub and when the bouncer, a man in his thirties, intervened one of the patrons, a man believed to be in his early twenties, pulled a gun and shot him.”
Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the bouncer had sustained a life-threatening wound.
“Tragically the bouncer died at the scene due to the extensive injuries,” concluded Botha.
The owner of the nightclub could not immediately be reached for comment.
