Mashego was arrested for “interfering” with police duty.

Metro police (TMPD) spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said in a statement that Mashego tried to interfere with police duties on the corner of Eeufees and Rodger Dyson roads.

“The officers advised the person that they were simply doing their lawful duties. She allegedly became verbally abusive to the officers and continued to want to interfere with their duties,” Mahamba said.

According to some reports, Mashego was allegedly addressing informal traders when the arrest occurred.

Mashego tweeted that she was arrested by the TMPD.
