Fun walk aids disabled
Lyttelton Primary School and Maranatha Bana Centre held a Passion Rainbow Fun Walk for children and adults with disabilities.
A Passion Rainbow Fun Walk in aid of children and adults with disabilities was recently held in Centurion.
The walk was hosted by Lyttelton Primary School and Maranatha Bana Centre.
Children and adults from all walks of life attended the fun walk to celebrate each other’s differences.
Marantha Bana Centre principal Jolene Buchanan said, “It was a day for celebrating each other and our differences with colour, laughter, great food and fun.”
She said there were a number of children and adults who had been diagnosed with disabilities that were largely misunderstood, such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome and children suffering from developmental delay.
Marantha Bana Centre decided to organise the walk and focus on children and adults with special needs.

Buchanan said the centre offered an individualised programme called Giftid that changed these children’s abilities through specialised stimulation.
He said all children, regardless of race, age, gender, social standing and disabilities, had a right to participate in schooling. This is where individual care and support was provided to enjoy the path of development and growth.
Marantha Bana Centre planned to extend the fun walk to an annual event with Lyttelton Primary School, following Saturday’s success.
