Centurion singer HunTer Leite launches 3 new singles
Following two years of creative reflection, the award-winning artist explores fresh sounds across three standalone tracks before 2027.
Centurion singer-songwriter HunTer Leite is preparing for a new musical chapter, with three singles due before year-end as she explores new sounds and gives listeners a glimpse into her creative growth. The 44-year-old has spent months working on new music and is looking forward to sharing it with fans.
Singer-songwriter HunTer Leite is preparing for a new musical chapter, with three singles due before year-end. Her first release, Dandelions in the Wind, is expected around November 23 and introduces a country-infused sound. Two more singles, Ek Ry Na Jou Toe and Puppet, will follow before January 2027.
Leite said each song had its own personality and represented a different side of her as an artist.
She explained that the three tracks would be released individually rather than as part of an EP or album, allowing each song its own moment to connect with listeners.
Dandelions in the Wind introduces her country influences, while Ek Ry Na Jou Toe is in Afrikaans. Puppet will offer another dimension to her musical personality.
Leite said she was excited to experiment with different styles without limiting herself to one genre.
“What excites me most is that I’m not trying to fit myself into one box,” she said. “Music is a form of expression, and I want the freedom to explore different sounds, emotions, and stories.”
Two years of reflection
Her decision to explore a different direction follows two years of reflection and personal growth. Leite said her experiences had influenced her approach to music, songwriting and creative expression.
She believes artists need to keep evolving rather than repeatedly recreating what they have done before.
“This new sound reflects my desire to grow, experiment, and express different sides of myself. I still want the emotion, connection, and storytelling that have always mattered to me, but I’m also excited about taking creative risks,” she said.
International nod and local honours
Her journey has also attracted international recognition. In 2026, her song Fighter, a collaboration with Nashville-based award-winning producer Justine Blazer, was nominated for Song of the Year at the Josie Music Awards, held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
Closer to home, Leite was named a top-three finalist in the Arts and Culture category of South Africa’s Woman of Stature Awards.
She said the recognition was encouraging and reinforced her belief that music could cross borders and connect people through shared emotions and experiences.
She believes art can give a voice to feelings that are difficult to explain and help people find meaning in challenging experiences.
“A song can speak to someone who is going through a difficult time and remind them that they are not alone. That connection is one of the reasons music means so much to me,” she said.
Looking ahead, Leite is focused on preparing the three singles and giving each release the attention it deserves. Although she hinted at possibilities for 2027, she could not share further details yet.
She hopes the new music will appeal to existing supporters while introducing her work to new listeners locally and internationally.
“I’m still learning and growing. There is always another story to tell and another opportunity to connect with someone through music,” she added.
