Many residents in Pretoria East remained without water due to the pipeline repairs.

Repairs to a damaged water pipeline in Pretoria East is expected to be completed by Tshwane metro technicians on Wednesday evening.

Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the city’s plumbers were working on the repairs.

Many residents in Pretoria East remained without water due to the pipeline repairs.

The following areas were affected:  Waverley, Lynnwood, Queenswood, Villeria, Murrayfield, Silverton, The Willows, Silverlakes, Wingate Park, Die Wilgers Hospital, Eastlyn, Jan Niemand Park and parts of Faerie Glen.

Michelle Miller, a Lynnwood resident, said she had been without water since Sunday.

HJ Van der Westhuizen, another Lynnwood resident, from the Kings Highway complex, said residents at his complex made calls querying the lack of water around 03:00 on Tuesday morning.

“At first we thought it was just a water crises at the complex. We later realised the entire area had no water,” said Van der Westhuizen.

The metro issued a statement on Wednesday morning apologising to residents in the east who were without water.
