Putco ready with contingency plan during fuel strike

“We can confirm that we have a solid plan and commuters don’t need to worry about the fuel strike affecting our services.”

Putco has assured commuters not to be concerned about bus services during the fuel strike.

Meanwhile motorists across Pretoria continued to battle with fuel shortages.

In a statement on Tuesday evening Putco informing commuters the ongoing strike action in the fuel industry could have a negative effect on the day-to-day operations.

Filling stations in and around the city were either without fuel or running extremely low, following a six-day strike by fuel workers.

However, Putco spokesperson Tshepo Tsotsotso said they now had a contingency plan for the fuel shortages.

“We can confirm that we have a solid plan and commuters don’t need to worry about the fuel strike affecting our services.”

He said Putco fuel suppliers reassured them that things should be fine.

“We [Putco] remain hopeful that the causes of the strike will be resolved soon before our business and commuters are directly affected.”

He said Putco was doing everything in its power to provide detailed feedback to commuters.
