Two arrested for drug possession
The man was spotted carrying a yellow plastic bag near the Mooiplaas informal settlement.
Police arrested two men in possession of drugs in Mooiplaas on Tuesday morning.
Erasmia police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the men were found with dagga and nyaope.
“Police received a tip-off from members of the community that a man was selling dagga in the area.”
“The man was spotted carrying a yellow plastic bag near the Mooiplaas informal settlement around 10:00.”
Moloto said when police searched the bag, they found dagga valued at R3 000 and arrested the man.
The police also chased down and arrested another man who had who tried to escape when he spotted the officers approaching.
“Nyaope valued at R3 500 was found on him.”
Moloto said the two men, aged 17 and 19 years, were detained at the Erasmia police station and would appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
