The fourth successful MootMakietie was held by the Dutch Reformed Pierneef congregation at Hoërskool Hendrik Verwoerd on Saturday.
Organiser Calla Bezuidenhout said the money generated would be used to buy school uniform and shoes for the needy at Hoërskool Hendrik Verwoerd and to keep a feeding scheme going.
“The church hosted the event to put a smile to faces of the disadvantaged children,” said Bezuidenhout.
Money raised also assisted about 20 disadvantaged families.
The fun-filled day was enjoyed by adults and children alike. Children were kept busy with lots of entertainment, food stalls and prizes, while adults browsed through the various craft stalls and looked at the classic cars on display.
