Residents treated to wine

“The wine show is a fantastic drawcard for our already loyal shoppers,” Marketing manager of Menlyn Park Shopping Centre Andrea de Wit said.

Menlyn Park Shopping Centre customers had an opportunity to buy their favourite wines direct from wine cellars at the first TOPS at SPAR Wine Show at the centre from August 25 to 27.

The wine show, which has been touring South Africa since 2006, brought the Cape wine cellars to Pretoria to showcase some of the best wines made in the country.

“There are a number of wines traditionally found on supermarket shelves but there are also smaller cellars who showcase their wares that the public might not have heard about before,” spokesperson of TOPS at SPAR wine show Maryna Strachan said.

Strachan said it was a great experience for the public to test the wines and buy them.

Marketing manager of Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, Andrea de Wit said the event attracted shoppers.

“The wine show is a fantastic drawcard for our already loyal shoppers,” De Wit said in a statement.

Two great wine theatres consisting of the first a series of interactive tasting talks hosted by industry experts and wine personalities and the new Supertaster Theatre, with the Cape Wine Academy presenting some great topics, were part of the show.

The organisers of the event are planning to host it again in Pretoria.
