‘Robber killer’ charged with murder
He shot and killed an alleged robber in Marabastad.
A man has been charged with murder after he killed an attacker in Pretoria West two weeks ago.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said Naem Mohammed (37) shot dead the man during a robbery in Marabastad.
“He was recently charged with murder following the incident. He appeared in court this week but the case was postponed.”
AfriForum branch chairperson Francois Oberholzer said the area where the robbery occurred was a smash-and-grab hotspot.
Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said Mohamed was waiting for his crew on the corner of Boom and Es’kia Mphahlele streets on 18 August.

“During the robbery, Mohamed managed to reach his firearm and shot one of the suspects in the upper body and he collapsed a few metres away.”
“The other robbers fled.”
He said the robbers stole Mohamed’s iPhone,
Another suspect, a 19-year-old man, was later arrested in the area.
“He appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court to face charges of robbery,” Msimango earlier said.
Selepe said the third robber was still at large.
