Mall robbers still on the run
Police are keeping a close eye on malls and shopping centres after two Incredible Connection stores were robbed last month.
The search is still on for robbers who hit two Incredible Connection shops in Pretoria last month.
Incredible Connection at Mall@Reds and Atterbury Value Mart were robbed in a space of two days by armed men.
On Tuesday, police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma said, “Investigations are still ongoing. Police are keeping an eye on shopping centres and malls.”
On 17 August, an Incredible Connection store at Mall@Reds was robbed by a group of six armed men.
The robbers stole an undisclosed amount of equipment before fleeing the scene.
Police said no other robberies had been reported since the incident.
On 18 August, Incredible Connection at Atterbury Value Mart was also robbed.
According to an employee, the robbers became aggressive and assaulted an employee before all staff were forced into the backroom.
They took laptops, an undisclosed amount of money and the staff’s personal items (wallets and cellphones).
It was not immediately clear whether the two robberies were committed by the same gang.
