Hercules home robbed
The domestic worker managed to alert the owner before the robbers tied her up.
Four men stole valuables from a house in Hercules after they tied up a domestic worker on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the men arrived at the house in Suiderberg in a white Toyota Corolla.
“The domestic worker was on the phone with the homeowner when the suspects made their way into the house,” she said.
“Upon entering the yard, the men saw the worker and ordered her to lie on the ground.”
Selepe said the domestic worker managed to alert the owner before the robbers tied her up. The owner was then able to call the police.
Selepe said the men took a 42 inch TV and jewellery valued at R13 000, but when they heard the police arrive, they ran away.
Police managed to recover the stolen jewellery, which was left in the suspects’ abandoned vehicle.
“The vehicle is suspected to have been stolen in Silverton.”
