ANCYL on charm offensive in Pretoria

The league has urged residents to attend the ANC's centenary celebration

ANCYL leader Collen Maine went on a charm offensive in Olievenhoutbosch, south of Pretoria, on Friday.

His mission was to woo residents to attend the league’s mother body centenary celebration on Sunday.

Maine was flanked by the league’s bigwigs in the Tshwane region, including chairman Lesego Makhubela.

He urged residents to attend the bash which will be held at the Orlando stadium.

“We want to urge all community members to come through and attend our centenary celebrations on Sunday because there is an important message that will be delivered by President Jacob Zuma,” said Maine.

Maine said the ANC should use this year’s celebration as the party turns 105 to attend to the land question.

“We know that as it stands the Constitution does allow for the land to be expropriated with compensation but that process has been going very slow, so the president has to tell us what is it that will be done to ensure that our people are given land to go forward.”
