Proteas return to Centurion for first T20

The Proteas and Sri Lanka resume their battle in a T20 international match this Friday.

South Africa take on Sri Lanka in the first T20 international match in Supersport Park, Centurion on Friday evening.

This will be the first of three T20 international matches scheduled to be played this month before the One Day International series starts.

The Proteas came off a successful 3-0 test series win against the same side recently.

The selection panel chose to go with a youthful squad this time around consisting of Jon-Jon Smuts, Theunis de Bruyn, Mangaliso Mosehle, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dane Paterson and Lungi Ngidi.

The team will be led by Titans batsman Ferhaan Behardien, who is replacing Faf du Plessis for this series.

Proteas star player AB de Villiers is set to return to action this series after missing out for six months.

The Proteas rank third in the latest ICC T20 rankings, behind India and New Zealand.

A series victory against the islanders could see the men in green leapfrog India to second position.

The match kicks off at 18:00.

Tickets cost between R100 and R150 and are available at the stadium or at ticketpro.
