Pretoria Boys high school’s 2016 matrics boasted outstanding results with a 100 percent pass rate.
Out of 297 matrics, 448 distinctions were achieved; 95 percent received bachelor’s degrees and 4 percent received diplomas.
Twenty-four learners achieved above 80 percent in English; 107 learners achieved above 70 percent and 109 learners achieved above 60 percent.
Sixty-eight learners achieved above 80 percent in Afrikaans; 74 achieved above 70 percent and 71 learners achieved above 60 percent.
Fifty-nine learners achieved above 80 percent in maths; 56 achieved above 70 percent and 67 learners achieved above 60 percent.
Thirty-seven learners achieved above 80 percent in physical science; 39 achieved above 70 percent and 55 learners achieved above 60 percent.
Pretoria Boys High spokesperson Jamie-Lee Fisher said distinctions were mostly achieved in Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, history, physical sciences, life sciences and accounting.
The top three students at Pretoria Boys high school were Frederick Grobler, Shaun Farrell and Akshay Maharaj.
Frederick achieved seven distinctions.
He achieved 88 percent for English home language, 93 percent for Afrikaans first additional language, 91 percent for maths, 94 percent for physical science, 94 percent for accounting, 93 percent for German and 89 percent for life orientation.
Frederick wants to study actuarial science at the University of Pretoria, where he hopes to qualify as an actuary and start a consultation firm in South Africa.
Shaun achieved seven distinctions.
He achieved 91 percent for English home language, 92 percent for Afrikaans first additional language, 93 percent for mathematics, 93 percent for French, 92 percent for life orientation, 96 percent for accounting and 81 percent for physical science.
Shaun wants to study BCom accounting sciences at the University of Pretoria.
He said he would like to get involved in a legal field, but believed an accounting degree would provide a great foundation and open up many opportunities for him.
Akshay achieved seven distinctions.
He achieved 87 percent for English home language, 87 percent for Afrikaans first additional language, 97 percent for maths, 94 percent for life sciences, 85 percent for physical science, 93 percent for accounting and 90 percent for life orientation.
Akshay Maharaj wants to study medicine at the University of Pretoria and hopes to have a meaningful affect on society through his profession.
