Sport highlights 3 to 5 February
The rugby season has already started, while the cricket season is far from over and in the meantime there is lots of other sports action for fans.
Sports fans can look forward to a full sports programme this weekend with lots of domestic and international action.
Cricket
The big cricket action of the weekend is the so-called “Pink Day” international game between the Proteas and Sri Lanka.
This one-day international takes place on Saturday (4 February) at the Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg at 13:30.
The Titans, who have to win both their remaining games in the Sunfoil Series if they want a chance at defending their title as champions, and that starts in Pietermaritzburg against the Dolphins.
This four-day game started on Thursday, 2 February.
Play starts at 10:00 daily.

Rugby
Apart from the Super Rugby games, there is also Varsity Cup action, which already started last Monday.
Tuks started well with a victory against their arch rivals, Maties, but will be in action again on Monday.
TUT however, will play their first game in the Varsity Shield competition on Thursday, 9 February at home in Pretoria West.
In the meantime, the HSBC World International Sevens series resumed last weekend and the Blitzboks won the tournament in New Zealand.
This weekend (3-5 February) they will try to strengthen their position in the log in the Sydney Sevens tournament in Australia.

Football
The African Cup of Nations tournament comes to an end this weekend after a month of top action in Gabon. The final will be played on Sunday, 5 February.
Athletics
One of the top road races in Pretoria, the McCarthy Toyota Half Marathon and 10km run takes place this weekend at Rietondale Park in Pretoria.
The event consists of a 21.1km half-marathon, a 10km road race and a 5km fun run.
The half-marathon starts at 06:00, while the 10km race will start at 06:20. The fun run will follow at 06:25.
The school athletics season is also still ongoing and enthusiasts can choose between various events in Pretoria and other parts of Gauteng.

Tennis
Tennis lovers in Pretoria are lucky enough to be able to see Davis Cup action for the fourth consecutive year this weekend.
South Africa will take on Estonia in a very important tie at the Irene Country Club.
The first singles game will start at 09:00 on Friday.
The doubles will follow on Saturday, and on Sunday the reverse singles games will take place.
