Sport highlights 3- 5 March
The Bulls, Mamelodi Sundowns and the Titans play away from home this weekend, but local sports fans still have a lot of choices if they want to attend good sport action this weekend.
It’s that time of year when the cricket and rugby seasons overlap, while there are also plenty of other sports to keep sports fans busy.

Cricket
Tensions are running high in New Zealand after the home team won the fourth ODI against the Proteas in the current series.
This means that Saturday’s fifth and final game at Eden Park in Auckland from 03:00, will be the series decider.
The Titans will also play another two games in the domestic Momentum one-day series this weekend.
On Friday they will take on the Knights at home in Benoni at 14:00 then travel to East London to battle the Warriors on Sunday at 10:00.

Rugby
The Super Rugby series started disastrously for the Bulls and they will be looking to get their campaign back on track against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein this weekend at 19:30.
On Monday night Tuks and TUT will be in action in the Varsity Cup and the Varsity Shield tournaments respectively.
TUT will play away against Fort Hare and, Tuks at home against the Central University of Technology at 16:45 in the Tuks Rugby Stadium.
Soccer
Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United will be in action in the league this weekend.
Sundowns travel to Cape Town to play against Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium on Friday at 20:00.
United play against the other big team from Western Cape, Ajax Cape Town at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday at 20:15.
Mountain bike racing
Round one of the Nissan TrailSeeker Mountain Bike Series will take place at Legends MX, east of Pretoria on Saturday.
In 2016, over 3 000 largely women and young riders, participated in the event.
The course is sufficiently challenging but not considered technical and therefore ideal for riders still lacking confidence.
As usual, the race village will cater well for spectators and offer a relaxing environment for riders and supporters before the start and after the finish.

Golf
Pretoria’s biggest golf event of the year, the Tshwane Open is on this weekend with the action having already started on Thursday.
This tournament is part of the European Tour this year and therefore golf enthusiasts could see big names in action at Pretoria Country Club. The action ends Sunday.
Road running
The 32 kilometre Medihelp Sunrise Monster is an ideal conditioner for an ultra marathon athlete’s preparation schedule but the 10 kilometre mini monster has turned into one of the largest events in Gauteng North attracting more than 3 000 runners to the hills of Groenkloof in Pretoria.
Add to that a very enjoyable 5 kilometre event and you have the makings of just under 8 000 participants that took part in the 2016 edition.
The race starts and ends at the Harlequins Sports Club in Totiusstreet in Groenkloof – the 32km race starts at 06:00, the 10km race at 06:30 and the 5km fun run at 06:45.
