The victim’s mother said her daughter was badly bruised after the almost 4m drop into her neighbour’s yard.
“It’s hard to believe what happened that day but we are grateful police responded so quickly.”
She said her daughter had seen her gynaecologist and it was confirmed the baby was fine.
She said her daughter was scheduled for a caesarean on 31 March.
The 35-year-old victim was at her home in Accornhoek Street when she spotted a man making his way into her yard around 12:15.
“She ran to the door screaming to ward off the burglar,” said the mother.

When she saw he had a gun, the victim ran back into the house and called for the gardener.
“The gardener came into the house and was told by the burglar in Zulu he would be shot if he didn’t leave,” said the mother.
She said both her daughter and the gardener ran out of the house and scaled the wall with help from the gardener.
The gardener followed and the two quickly called police for help.
“My daughter had thrown her phone over first before she made the jump.”
The burglar escaped with a flat screen TV.
