His agent Zinta Kymdell announced that De Beer, known as Jonathan from Radio Raps, had undergone an operation to remove gallstones and thus would be unable to perform for the next weeks.
“De Beer was taken to hospital on Saturday after his performance at Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp. De Beer did this show with a drip on his arm,” said Kymdell.
De Beer underwent surgery on Monday and a second operation was scheduled for Tuesday but was postponed due to his unstable health after he contracted a virus which resulted in heart failure.

He was transferred to high care on Monday afternoon and to the intensive care unit on Tuesday for further treatment.
“His medical team is satisfied [with his progress] and says his condition is critical, but stable.”
“We apologise for the inconvenience but the most important thing now is for him to get better and back on track soon,” said Kymdell.
“The new performances dates will be announced shortly.”
