Cupcakes of Hope founder, Sandy Cipriano had hoped to raise R600 000 for stem-cell and bone marrow transplants.

The theme for this year’s national cupcake day was “We can all make a difference, one cupcake at a time.”

Co-ordinator for the Woodlands Boulevard and Kolonnade mall events, Anzelle Fourie, said volunteers and bakers exchanged delicious cupcakes with the public for R10 at each.

“Woodlands and Kolonnade Retail Park was once again on board to host and raise money for children and their families affected with cancer, we were also able to hand out over 1000 leaflets with the early childhood cancer warning signs,” said Fourie.

Fourie thanked all the sponsors, Cupcake Angels and residents for making the event possible.
