NEWSFLASH: Armed robbery in Wonderboom

Man robbed of foreign currency at gunpoint.

Police have launched a manhunt for four men who robbed a man at the Wonderboom airport.

The suspects – travelling in a white BMW 1 series – got away with a large amount of money, Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said.

“The suspects confronted the man, who picked up a package from a plane,” he said.

He said the package contained a substantial amount of foreign currency.

According to Dlamini, the suspects pointed a firearm at the man, took the parcel and drove away.

A SAPS Facebook post stated that no shots were fired and no one was injured.
