Police in Olievenhoutbosch have launched a manhunt for suspected armed robbers.
They managed to arrest one of the robbers on Tuesday at Extension 23. Two are still on the run.
Tshwane west cluster spokesperson, Constable Tumisang Moloto said the 32-year-old suspected robber and his two accomplices approached a 42-year-old businessman at his supermarket while he was unpacking stock from his vehicle.
“The trio allegedly robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash and two cell phones before driving away in his vehicle,” Moloto said.
Moloto said a swift response by the police units consisting of K9, air wing (chopper) and the local crime prevention team led to the arrest of a suspect at Jakalas Street near Olievenhoutbosch plaza shortly after being alerted about the robbery.

“In the process, two unlicensed firearms, cell phones and the vehicle were recovered and seized by the police,” said Moloto.
Police appeal to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the remaining suspects to come forward and assist.
