Three people were injured this morning when a truck ploughed into more than 10 cars and heavy-duty vehicles during the farm murder protest on the N4 highway near Middelburg in Mpumalanga.
About 13 vehicles were involved in the collision.
ER24 emergency service paramedics along with other services arrived on the scene at about 10:40.
Paramedics found that ten cars and three trucks were blocking one side of the road and several vehicles were found overturned on the grassy embankment.
Local law enforcement authorities closed off the road and diverted traffic while paramedics assessed the patients. Two people were found to have sustained serious injuries while one had moderate injuries.
Paramedics treated those injured before transporting them to a Middelburg hospital.
Apparently, the truck driver lost control and the vehicle crashed into several others taking part in the #BlackMonday protest action.
Police are investigating.
