VIDEO: Montana man caught with drugs, gold and ammunition

Police confiscated several rounds of ammunition and detonators.

A young man was arrested after being found in possession of precious metals, ammunition and drugs in the north of Pretoria.

The man, in his twenties, was apprehended in Montana recently by Sinoville police.

“Police officers received information on the suspect that led them to his father’s house,” said spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk.

“When searching the suspect’s room, police found raw gold, detonators, ammunition and false identity documents.”

Van Dyk said illegal substances and equipment used to package drugs were also found.

“Police confiscated the items and arrested the suspect,” said Van Dyk.

Constables Johannes Thapelo Tladi and Adriaan du Plessis, as well as Warrant Officer Karin Labuschagne were lauded for their efforts in apprehending the suspect.

“On behalf of Sinoville police, we thank them for their hard work and dedication to bring criminals to book.”
