A father – whose son has been in hospital since 27 November – pleaded with the man whom he claimed caused the accident that put his son in hospital to come forward.
In a heartfelt letter posted on Facebook, the father, Etienne Horn said he was disappointed the biker did not stop at the scene.
“I am extremely unhappy with what happened to my son; it is difficult for me and I’m asking the person who caused this accident to please come forward,” Horn said.

Etienne’s son was riding on the N1 South between 07:00 and 07:30 on the day in question when someone on a red “semi off-road motorcycle” allegedly smashed into him, causing him to lose control.
“You (the biker who allegedly caused the accident) left the accident scene when you saw my son speaking on his phone to get an ambulance for himself,” wrote Horn. “You didn’t even wait for the police to arrive to tell them your side of the story.”
Horn’s son was riding a white and blue 1000cc Honda Fireblade at the time of the accident.

Horn pleaded with the person on the other motorcycle to come forward.
“I don’t wish him any harm; I just want him to contact the nearest police station and hand himself over because what he did is reckless. He should’ve stayed at the scene until everything was resolved,” he said.
Horn said his son has had five major operations on his lower left leg since the accident.
