One of the three men who allegedly killed a Bronkshortspruit magistrate was among the 28 persons arrested in Bronkhorspruit, Mamelodi, Ennerdale and other areas over the weekend.
The 27-year-old’s case was postponed and he was remanded into custody until 12 February for a formal bail application.

Stolen vehicles, explosives and 23 firearms, including pistols and revolvers, were seized by police over the weekend.
Among the vehicles was an allegedly stolen Mercedes-Benz and Ford Ranger.
An unlicensed revolver was also seized following a house robbery in Mamelodi.
The three suspects, who were driving a Ford Ranger stolen during a house robbery, were confronted by members of the flying squad.
The trio allegedly abandoned the vehicle and jumped into a Mercedes-Benz, but did not get away.
Police arrested them and discovered that their Mercedes-Benz getaway vehicle was also hijacked during December.
The men will appear at the Moretele magistrate court on charges of unlicensed firearms, possession of stolen vehicles and house robbery.

Police appealed to members of the public to be on the look-out for suspicious people and vehicles, and report them to their local police or crime stop on 08600-10111.
