Paramedics arrested in possession of emergency radio

“The paramedics were arrested and detained by the Tshwane metro police department and later handed over to the Sunnyside police."

Two private paramedics were recently arrested for allegedly being in possession of a radio system belonging to the Tshwane metro.

Both the metro police and the South African police service have not been able to shed more light on the allegations.

According to reliable sources (who were on the scene), members of the Tshwane metro police arrested the two paramedics in Sunnyside.

“The paramedics were arrested and detained by the Tshwane metro police department and later handed over to the Sunnyside police,” one of the sources said.

Tshwane metro spokesperson Phindele Molefe referred Rekord to the metro police department for information.

Metro police spokesperson Isaac Mahamba said he had no records of such arrests, despite several sources confirming the opposite.

Police spokesperson Captain Koba Brits confirmed the incident but could not provide more information, saying “all the details had been sent to Mahamba”.
