A couple accused of scamming people out of money appears to have made their way to Cape Town.
Fraud and criminal charges had been laid against them at police stations in Centurion and Pretoria North.
Rekord earlier reported on one of the victims, Kabous Krige, who lost two vehicles to the couple a motorbike and a bakkie.

Krige is livid as the vehicles were to be sold and used as a deposit on a new vehicle.
Krige said he responded to an advertisement by the couple last year, claiming they were able to assist with finance for new or used vehicles.
“They sold both my vehicles and never got me the new vehicle as per our deal. They also never gave back my money.”

After Krige’s complaint to Rekord, the couple was contacted to tell their side of the story.
The woman claimed she and her husband had spent R10 000 on Krige’s vehicles for repairs.
She said they had a “crisis” at their other business out of town and could not attend to Krige’s matters at the time.

She rejected any notion of wrongdoing, saying they were in the process of legal consultation.
She said Krige had been informed about the “crisis” and asked him to be patient for two weeks when they would return.
“When we returned, he started threatening us,” she said.
The woman said she then asked Krige to send a letter of cancellation, terminating the deal and to get his money back.
“I’ve asked him five times to send me the cancellation letter.”
In November last year, when Rekord followed up on the matter, she insisted that Krige never sent her a letter, which she said her lawyer needed to transfer his money.
She also said that Rekord could speak to her legal representative.
The lawyer said a settlement proposal had been sent to Krige.
Last month, Krige said he still had not received any payment.
The lawyer later confirmed that he could not locate the couple.

Police confirmed that charges were laid and were being investigated.
By this week it remained unclear whether investigations against the couple were any closer to reaching the courtroom.
The couple also faces legal action in Mpumalanga, reported our sister publication the Middelburg Observer.
It said the couple allegedly scammed the wives of the two men jailed for putting a man in a coffin.
They allegedly conned the wives out of R24 000 for services that were never rendered.
A dentist blacklisted the woman who never paid a dental account of R30 000.
Meanwhile, Rekord has heard that the couple had moved to Cape Town.
They could not be reached for comment.
